Compassionate Care At Its Best

Pure Lotus Hospice of Compassion takes in end-stage cancer patients who are impoverished, single, and without caregivers or a place to stay. We offer round-the-clock Palliative Care provided by professional doctors and nurses who oversee medical and nursing needs. Our approach is holistic, encompassing medical, physical, and emotional care, with significant emphasis on spiritual well-being. Regardless of race or religion, we welcome all individuals. As the sole In-Patient NGO Hospice in Malaysia, we provide a unique service.

History of Pure Lotus Hospice of Compassion

Established in 2001 in a rented bungalow, Pure Lotus Hospice of Compassion was founded by Venerable Lyan Shih, a retired Nurse-Tutor. Her inspiration came from patients repeatedly asking, 'The doctor said there is nothing more they could do and asked us to go home. Where can we go? Who will look after us?' Despite lacking funds, a location, and expertise, Venerable Lyan Shih, along with friends, courageously initiated the Hospice with an abundance of heart, faith, and compassion.

Palliative Care Services

As the only NGO In-Patient Hospice, Pure Lotus Hospice of Compassion provides round-the-clock care for bed-bound patients. Our dedicated team of doctors, nurses, and supportive staff ensure the patients' comfort and freedom from pain, catering to their every need.

Spiritual Care is integral in end-stage care, providing patients with solace, peace, and relief, often leading to peaceful passing.

Bereavement Support

Relatives and friends find solace in our bereavement support, returning to express their gratitude during moments of grief.

Outreach Programme

Pure Lotus extends support to those living with HIV/AIDS through a dedicated Program Coordinator who assists in hospital referrals and procuring medications.
